And Then There Were Five!
If you would have told me at the beginning of 2016 that less than a year later, I would have a team of five people and a growing roster of amazing clients, I would have laughed at you. I had almost reluctantly incorporated, thinking that I'd do a little consulting before finding "the job of my dreams".
Instead, I created the job of my dreams...and a few more! I'm excited to announce a few new team members at Truly Social Inc. These three amazing individuals are joining Nicole and I in our quest to help clients be, well, truly social:
#1. Maria Vassiliou [content coordinator]
The minute I looked at Maria's application for the content coordinator position, I knew she was 'the one'. A graduate from the Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD) with a Bachelor of Design (Major in Advertising), Maria has an amazing eye for photography and videography. She's created social content for The Sorry Girls and Dial Canada, runs cool grassroots projects, and has worked with influencers from Canada to Bollywood!
She's smart, strategic and a triple threat with her talent for writing, photography and videography.
#2. Christian Pearson [animation specialist]
We didn't set out to hire an animator, but we did nonetheless. As soon as I saw Christian's raw talent, I knew we had to snap him up. Besides, he called himself "a Swiss-Army Knife of digital content creation and promotion". What's not to love about that? And he most definitely is.
Christian has experience in Motion Graphic Design, Video Editing, Character Animation, Illustration and Social Media Marketing. He's written graphic novels (which he sells at Comicon, btw), and he loves superheroes. It's sort of a perfect fit for us.
#3. Nina Winwood [communications assistant]
Nina comes to us through Canadian Virtual Gurus and is our awesome remote assistant (she's on the West Coast!). Already, we've found out how multi-talented Nina is, doing everything from accounting and admin tasks to helping us put together a soon-to-be-launched newsletter. When Nina told me that she is an avid Redditor, I knew we hit the jackpot with her!
I'm pretty excited about my growing team of talented and energetic people. It's true that a business in its growth stage really does grow into the direction of the talent it brings on. With this group, we're boosting our multi-media capabilities and deepening our commitment to video.
We'll also be moving into our bigger, brighter offices at District 28 - needed to accommodate our growth as well as an in-house studio for our future daily livestreams and Truly Social lessons. We love visitors, you should definitely pop in sometime.
Here are just a few of our visitors in the past few months:
